The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is an assessment of English-language skills taken by university applicants who are primarily speakers of other languages. Most students who received their secondary and/or tertiary education in another language will be required to demonstrate their suitability for university study in English-speaking countries by passing the TOEFL, and minimum score requirements are established by individual universities, schools, and departments. The TOEFL currently exists in two versions: the internet-based test (iBT) and the paper-based test (PBT). iBT stands for Internet Based Test which is the most common form of TOEFL conducted worldwide.Students who want to apply for higher education overseas, scholarship and certification candidates, students and workers applying for visa can take TOEFL test any number of times not more than once in a 12-day period.
TOEFL iBT Exam Structure
|i) Reading Section
|3–4 reading passages, 10 questions each , 54–72 minutes
|ii) Listening Section
|3–4 lectures, 6 questions each , 2–3 conversations, 5 questions each , 41–57 minutes
|iii) Speaking Section
|4 Tasks, 1 independent, 3 integrated, 17 minutes
|iv) Writing Section
|2 Tasks, Time Allotted – 50 mins.

|TOEFL iBT is out of 120
|Applicants can report their IELTS score to maximum of 5 universities as per the STED RO list free of cost after receiving the IELTS result.

|There is a provision of reporting your TOEFL test scores to a maximum of four universities of your choice, the cost of which is built into the TOEFL test fee you pay.
